| The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from 11 AM tomorrow morning to 8 PM Friday evening.
During the heat advisory, heat index values between 95 and 100 degrees are expected. There will be only limited relief Thursday night, with low temperatures in the lower 70s.
Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Precautionary and preparedness actions include the following: - Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. - Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. - Take immediate action if you notice symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
