Currently, an engine from Pleasant Valley Fire District, along with New Hackensack Fire District, are supplying mutual aid coverage to the Dover Fire District while they are battling a huge brush fire.
Special Weather Statement issued this morning from the National Wester Service says...
The combination of recent dry weather, westerly winds gusting 15 to 25 mph, minimum relative humidity values between 30 and 45 percent, and dry fuels will contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread today for portions of eastern New York, including the Capital District, Upper and Mid-Hudson Valleys, and the Taconics.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
Be sure to properly extinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources, including smoking materials such as cigarette butts. |
