| The Pleasant Valley Fire District joins many other fire districts, police and fire departments in Dutchess County and across New York State in sending our deepest sympathies to the family of East Fishkill Police Department Officer Daniel DiDato, as well as condolences to the entire East Fishkill Police Department on their loss.
Officer DiDato was driving to Westchester Medical Center to conduct a crash investigation when his vehicle left the Taconic State Parkway and struck a tree. He was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It is the first line-of-duty death in the history of the town's police department.
Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Officer DiDato's family on the tragic passing of such a courageous man. His sacrifice will be forever remembered and we hope that the outpouring of love to his family will help in some small way during this extremely difficult time. |
