House Fire Displaces Seven...Mayday Called To Rescue Fallen Firefighter

At about 6 PM on Monday April 8th, Pleasant Valley Fire District was dispatched to a Smith Road for a possible house fire. The initial call reported an explosion in the basement with a fire. Pleasant Valley Fire Lieutenant Colin Burgess was first on the scene within one minute and reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house. Motor Vehicle Accident on the Taconic State Parkway

On Saturday, March 23, at approximately 1615 the Pleasant Valley Fire District was dispatched for a one car auto accident on the Taconic State Parkway northbound direction.
First arriving units found one car down an embankment with heavy damage to the passenger side. Crews began extricating the two occupants in heavy rain and muddy conditions.

2024 New York State Burn Ban

The Pleasant Valley Fire District reminds residents of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) annual STATEWIDE BURN BAN prohibiting residential brush burning.
Since 2009, DEC enforces the annual brush burning ban from March 16 through May 14 to prevent wildfires and protect communities during heightened conditions for wildfires.
